Tellie App - Privacy Statement

In our words - why you can trust us with your data:

  • we do not ask for or save data that we do not necessarily need
  • we do not track, analyze or profile you
  • we do not save audio, video or chat
  • we do not transfer data to third parties automatically in the background
  • we process your data only on our own servers in our data center in Germany and not somewhere in the cloud

Having said that here comes the official part:

The Tellie app enables participation in the video conference service www.tellie.eu based on the open source software Jitsi-Meet. When using this service, personal data is collected in order to identify individual users.

In order to ensure the lawful use of this data, we inform you as a user about the scope, purpose and use of your personal data. We take data protection very seriously and protect your data.

Type and purpose of the personal data collected

In terms of data economy, we only process personal data of our users if this is necessary to provide the service and to ensure its functionality. The specific type of use and the intended use are explained below in the context of the respective application. The processing takes place regularly only because of our predominant interest in the functionality and operational safety of Tellie in accordance with Article 6 paragraph 1 f) GDPR.

In the following you will find out which personal data is specifically recorded by the service when using Tellie and for what purposes it is used.

Server Log Files
When you use the app, we collect data that is technically necessary for us to show you the correct data and to ensure correct operation of the site. We collect data that your cell phone transmits to our server (so-called "server log files").
• Date and time of access
• Amount of data sent
• Browser used
• Operating system used
• IP address used

Access to the Tellie service is stored in log files for eight weeks and then deleted. In the event of an attack on the website, the above-mentioned data can be excluded from deletion for evidence reasons until a possible illegal act has been clarified.

Customer Data
If you register for the service the personal data you enter will be used to identify you as the user and to facilitate the payment and invoicing process. Your data can be exchanged with an external payment service provider to process the payment.

User data
The video and audio data and, when using the built-in chat function, also textual information are only collected for the duration of Tellie's use and processed on our servers. There is no permanent storage of this personal data on the server.

Right to information according to Article 15 GDPR
As a user, you have the right to request information from the person responsible about which personal data is stored and processed by you. If your personal data has been processed, you can also request information about the information mentioned in Article 15 GDPR in the context of data processing.

Right to correction under Article 16 GDPR
On the basis of the provision of Article 16 GDPR, you have the right to request the correction or completion of incorrect or incomplete personal data concerning you.

Right to deletion according to Article 17 GDPR
Unless there is a legal obligation to store your personal data, you have the right under Article 17 (1) GDPR to request the immediate deletion of your personal data. If there is a legal obligation to store data within the meaning of Article 17 (3) GDPR, which excludes such a right to erasure, data processing is restricted in such a way that your personal data is blocked for use beyond the permissible legal purposes and therefore no longer for other purposes be used.

Right to object to processing according to Article 21 GDPR
You can exercise your right to object at any time and object to the processing of your personal data.
Right to data portability according to Article 20 GDPR.

You have the right to receive your personal data processed based on consent in a structured, common and machine-readable format and to transmit this data to another controller without hindrance from the controller to whom the personal data was provided.

You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority within the meaning of Article 51 GDPR about the processing of your personal data if you believe that it violates the GDPR.
